MONOTHERM TXF

MonoTherm TXF is a highly flexible thin coat silicone based render system designed to achieve a weatherproof decorative finish over a multitude of substrates used in masonry, timber and steel frame construction and various forms of external insulation.

MonoTherm TXF can be applied to EPS and mineral wool insulation, ICF formwork, approved render carrier boards and most stable masonry.

The MonoTherm TXF system has been specified and installed on all manner of projects from private houses to commercial buildings, schools, colleges, mid-sized developments and large scale housing schemes for national house builders throughout the UK, Europe and Middle East for over 20 years with complete confidence and satisfaction.

MONOTHERM TXF A BASIC GUIDE

TIMBER & STEEL FRAME CONSTRUCTION

In timber frame, steel frame and SIPS construction, where the insulation is achieved within the internal structure, the MonoTherm TXF “render only” system components are installed over the enclosing render carrier board. This delivers a decorative, high-performance and weatherproof finish.

ThermBase TXF is applied in two coats. The boarding in preparation for ThermPrime TXF and the final through colour decorative TXF silicone finish layer total 6mm.

MonoMesh TXF is imbedded between the two ThermBase TXF layers whilst wet.

Mesh beads are installed to encapsulate the base coats and give definition to the finished product.

MonoTherm TXF onto render carrier board system thickness guidance:

6mm of ThermBase TXF + 2mm of TXF silicone finish = 8mm + thickness of render carrier board.

For example, a system using a 12mm render carrier board would total approximately 20mm in thickness from the outer face of the battening.

The battening configuration, onto which the render carrier board is fixed, may differ between board manufacturers and building warranty providers. We advise seeking confirmation by them to ensure that specific product installation and building warranty guidelines are met.

STABLE MASONRY

The benefits of the high performance TXF silicone “render only” components can be enjoyed on projects constructed entirely of masonry. They can also be applied where masonry panels are present within a scheme that requires insulated, or render boarded surfaces, to achieve a consistent finish throughout.

ThermBase TXF is applied as a 10mm base coat over the masonry in preparation for ThermPrime TXF and the final through colour decorative TXF silicone finish layer.

MonoMesh TXF is imbedded into the entire ThermBase TXF layer whilst wet.

10mm UPVC beads are installed to encapsulate the base coats and give definition to the finished product.

10mm of ThermBase TXF + 2mm of TXF silicone Finish = 12mm.

EXTERNAL INSULATION

The MonoTherm TXF insulated systems are designed specifically for each project. The bespoke solution is based on the desired thermal performance, type of construction and key factors such as exposure and fire regulations.

The thickness of the insulated component, such as EPS, ICF or mineral wool, is specified. This ensures that the combined thermal performance of the existing wall build and MonoTherm TXF system meets building regulations or a particular thermal value.

Generally, the insulation is bonded to masonry or sheathing board using ThermBase TXF base coat. This is further secured with system-specific mechanical fixings, that have been calculated to suit the application.

ThermBase TXF is then applied in two coats totalling 6mm over the insulation and primed using ThermPrime TXF. This preparation makes it ready for the final, through colour, decorative TXF silicone finish layer.

MonoMesh TXF is imbedded into the entire ThermBase TXF base coat layer whilst wet.

Mesh beads are installed to encapsulate the base coats and give definition to the finished product.

MonoTherm TXF insulated systems thickness guidance:

3 – 5mm of ThermBase TXF to bond insulation + thickness of insulation + 6mm base coats + 2mm of TXF silicone finish.

For example a system using 90mm EPS panels would total approximately 100mm – 105mm in thickness.
