This large private Oxfordshire home was covered in traditional rough cast and many layers of external paint that had been lovingly added over the course of decades. The wonderful clients were in love with the finish of Monocouche XF and in particular our XF Dark Beige and quite rightly wanted a warranty so we were left with no choice…..
The only way we could offer a true warranty was to take the entire exterior back to masonry and so the epic endeavour to remove nearly 500 meters of rock hard rough cast commenced. After 2 weeks and 12 of our staff rotating in shifts to remove and collect the render we finally got back to the brickwork substrate.
We jet washed the entire building down to remove any dust and loose, patched up any missing brickwork and installed Helifix crack stitching over the failed areas of masonry to restrain it from moving and cracking the newly applied render.
Eventually we were able to start moving forward and begin to spray apply our MonoBase XF polymer base coat to repair and level the surface damage we had caused during removal. We imbedded a full layer of MonoMesh XF into the MonoBase XF whilst it was wet creating a high strength flexible bandage around the entire property which prepared it perfectly for the final decorative XF Dark Beige finish.
They say hard work pays off and we think in this case it really did….
