Product Description
Acrylic based render paints can be applied to equalise, repair, rejuvenate, change colour and protect Monocouche, acrylic, silicone, cement renders and existing stable paint.
Acrylic render paints are very effective when there are aesthetic issues in the render such as damage caused by poor weather during installation, lack of maintenance or ghosting caused by rendering onto saturated masonry.
Hairline cracking (up to 2mm) within render caused by shrinkage in the masonry substrate can be infilled with flexible acrylic based filler before entire elevations are over coated with acrylic render paint.
When installed acrylic render paints create a more slippery surface that serves to reduce the build-up of airborne dirt and algae and with the aid of rain showers and maintenance more of the dirt is removed therefore keeping the its colourful brilliance for longer.
Far more robust than standard masonry paints acrylic paint systems are able to endure the elements for longer without the need for regular repainting and the nature of the acrylic base means that the system remains flexible after installation.
Installation Guidance
Application
The product can be applied using a brush or roller (preferably short napped)
Apply in two coats (in opposite directions) at least 6 hours apart
Dilution By Weight
The first coat can be diluted up to 30% – up to 4.2 litres of clean water per bucket
The second coat can be diluted up to 20% – up to 2.4 litres of clean water per bucket
Feedback from experienced installers suggests that 30% for the first coat and 10% for the second coat achieves excellent workability and consistency of finish.
Dilution within the above parameters can also be a good way of fine tuning the finished shade.
Substrate Preparation & Advice
- Substrates should be stable, clean, suitably dry and free from dust and loose material
- Any traces of oils, fats and waxes must be removed
- Anti-fungal cleaner should be used to remove any excessive dirt or algae build up
- If dusting is present a suitable primer should be applied prior
- The paint is very hard to remove from surfaces therefore it is very important that any adjoining/nearby features that are at risk are protected sufficiently
Do Not Apply
- Prior to a frost
- In damp wet conditions
- In temperatures lower than 5c or higher than 30c
- On elevations in direct sunlight
- On elevations in direct high wind
- On hot substrates
Important Advice
Batching
The paint mixing process is very accurate and once a colour is matched its pigment components are recorded for use for further orders however where possible we suggest that the entire batch of paint required to complete the work is ordered at the same time.
Matching
We have closely matched our standard Monocouche XF colours in the acrylic paint system however the precise finished shade of all Monocouche renders does differ slightly depending on the substrate and weather conditions during its initial installation.
The addition of a paint layer will always change the appearance of the substrate it has been applied to.
If you wish to have absolute and precise consistency throughout it will always be better to paint all areas/elevations or at least those that can be seen from a certain position.
We advise that a test panel/patch be applied to a less visible area for approval prior to commencing with larger areas.
Installing Party
The application of acrylic render paint is a specialist undertaking that should be only be carried out by experienced installers.
Monocouche Render Systems accept no liability for issues caused due to installation by others.

The complete suite of supporting technical data and guidance can be found within the Technical Reference section of our website where PDF installation guides can be downloaded and shared with the installing party.

Delivery & Returns
STANDARD DELIVERY TERMS
Your materials will be processed for delivery on the next available standard delivery service unless you state otherwise.
If you do not wish to receive your materials immediately, please specify the earliest date you want to receive them in the order notes section of the checkout.
For acrylic paints we advise a lead time of 5 – 10 working days from confirmation of order to receipt of materials at site.
- Day and date of planned delivery to site will be confirmed soon after initial order confirmation.
- Standard weekday delivery arrives on a rigid lorry at no specific time between 8am and 5.30pm.
- Standard weekday delivery allows for our vehicle to offload with a tail lift and pallet truck.
- The pallets must be offloaded “kerb side” onto a suitable solid hard standing such as road, driveway or path.
- Due to the weight of the pallets we cannot deliver onto gravel or stone finished areas.
- Re-delivery charges may be applied should the delivery fail due to site access and or readiness.
- We request that the driver of every consignment calls within one hour of arriving on site but unfortunately we cannot guarantee this.
Delivery timescales may vary during periods of national and bank holidays.
We offer the above timescales as a guide but unfortunately due to the well reported national driver shortage throughout UK pallet networks we do suffer the occasional delay which is completely out of our control and therefore we cannot be held responsible for any delays, losses or costs suffered in these quite rare instances.
Moffet offload, next day and Saturday deliveries may be available on request.
Please contact sales@monocouche.co.uk to confirm availability and pricing.
It is our advice that materials are ordered to site well in advance of when they are required for install.
Please take the time to ensure that you have ordered enough materials to avoid additional delivery charge & delay.
We suggest that the installing party provides the purchaser with the material quantities required.
