Acrylic render paints are very effective when there are aesthetic issues in the render such as damage caused by poor weather during installation, lack of maintenance or ghosting caused by rendering onto saturated masonry. Hairline cracking (up to 2mm) within render caused by shrinkage in the masonry substrate can be infilled with flexible acrylic based filler before entire elevations are over coated with acrylic render paint. When installed acrylic render paints create a more slippery surface that serves to reduce the build-up of airborne dirt and algae and with the aid of rain showers and maintenance more of the dirt is removed therefore keeping its colourful brilliance for longer. Far more robust than standard masonry paints, acrylic paint systems are able to endure the elements for longer without the need for regular repainting and the nature of the acrylic base means that the system remains flexible after installation.
